Nissan NV Cargo : Power To Tow The Big Tools
Searching for a reliable and durable cargo van in Louisiana can be tough, as there are many different types on the market to choose from. But one standout this year is the 2021 Nissan NV Cargo Van, which has quickly become a popular choice for Baton Rouge drivers.
That’s because it offers more cargo space, a nicer interior, and a more powerful drivetrain than most of the competition. But its innovative features don’t just stop there. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2021 Nissan NV Cargo and why it’s generating such a buzz in our community.

Exterior
While cargo vans often have a typical look, the NV Cargo stands out in its class thanks to its many striking exterior features that all add to its unique design. Halogen headlights, 50/50 Split rear cargo doors, a sliding passenger-side door, UV-reducing windshield glass, and 17" x 7.5" wheels all come standard.
Other features available include a Class IV tow hitch receiver, black or chrome grille, ten different points for mounting a roof rack, and all-season tires. For those who need extra vertical space, there’s also an option between having a standard roof or a high roof with select trims.
Interior
As you’d expect from its name, the NV Cargo has plenty of cargo space, with up to 323 cubic feet available. Inside the vehicle, you’ll find 36 cargo-mounting points, for those who need to install their own custom shelving. If you work with ladders, there are also ten reinforced mounting points located in the ceiling, which are perfect for installing a ladder rack.
For extra room or taking breaks from work, the passenger’s seat completely folds down, and it has an integrated seatback tray table as well. Other available features include a lockable center console, hardboard interior cargo panels, and either a set of one or three work lights in the cargo area.
Technology
Although the NV Cargo is thought of as a work vehicle, that doesn’t mean that it runs short on modern technology. Standard features include remote keyless entry, two 12-volt DC power outlets, Bluetooth audio capabilities, and a Bluetooth phone system for hands-free conversations.
Available options include either a 5.8” or 7” color touch-screen display, a voice recognition program, and a navigation system. Also available is RearView Monitor, a parking assistant feature that helps you park by sounding a warning tone when reversing near large objects.
Performance
The NV Cargo has all the power you need to get the big jobs done, with plenty of choices and options available. Based on which of the multiple trim levels you choose, you have your choice between a 4.0-liter 24-valve V6 engine or a 5.6 liter 32-valve V8. The V6 comes with a 5-speed transmission and produces 261 hp, while the V8 is paired with a 7-speed transmission and pushes out an impressive 375 hp. Nissan understands that a vehicle with this much power should be able to offer excellent towing capabilities as well. That’s why the NV Cargo has a max towing capacity of 9,400 pounds. This makes it a perfect workhorse vehicle that’s ideal for recreational outings as well.
Safety
Living in Louisiana often means driving daily on different types of roads and in different weather conditions. The safety features alone in this vehicle are reason enough to be excited about it. Standard safety features that come in every NV Cargo include six airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Brake Assist. The Traction Control System (TCS) provides traction to the vehicle or slippery situations by either reducing power from the motor or applying brake pressure. There’s also Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which can sense when you’re oversteering and can reduce brake pressure or engine power to counter this.
